My Bio_________________________________________________________________________
Andrew Schmidt is a conservatory-trained musician, currently living in New York City.
He began his formal training in music on French Horn, studying at the Pre-College division of The Juilliard School, studying with Peter Schoettler. He also performed with the New Jersey Youth Symphony, under the direction of George Marriner Maull, and numerous other chamber ensembles throughout the New York Area.
In 1996 Andrew entered the Manhattan School of Music as a Classical Composition major. It was here that he was able to perform early music with Kenneth Cooper and Kenneth Merrill.
He can be heard playing recorder on the Newport Classic CD of Daniel Catan's "Rappacini's Daughter".
In 1998 he began studying lute with Patrick O'Brien, specializing in early continuo.
Andrew is currently studying composition with David Noon, recorder with Gwyn Roberts, and lute with Pat O'Brien.

When searching for a suitable instrument, I found most makers to have obscene wait times (2-3 years) and impractical prices.
I found Giuseppe Tumiati on the Internet through the Early Music America home page.
I found his page to be well-organized, informative and professional.
His personal biography was very impressive and the accounts that his customers gave were very reassuring.
I think the most amazing thing about Giuseppe's work is his extremely short wait-time. I had the instrument in my hand in 4 months. Additionally, his prices are very fair.
Communicating with Giuseppe was very easy - completely through E-mail - he was very accomodating to my desires and very knowledgeable of the construction of the original instruments.
I would highly recommend Giuseppe to ANYONE!
About my Archlute___________________________________________________________
I think the pictures speak for themselves - but this lute is light, resonant, and extremely easy to play. The sound is sweet and full. I'm very proud to have such an instrument.
Now I'm waiting for Giuseppe to send me a 8 course student lute and a "gigantic" theorbo......come back soon to see them.

Andrew Schmidt è un musicista con istruzione di conservatorio, attualmente risiede a New York City.

Penso che le fotografie parlino da sole - ma questo liuto è brillante, sonoro, ed estremamente agevole da suonare. Il suono è dolce e pieno. Sono davvero orgoglioso di avere un simile strumento.
Ora sono in attesa che Giuseppe mi spedisca un liuto da studio a 8 ordini e una tiorba "gigante", torna presto a vederli.
