My CV as a musician is basically nothing--1 year of music theory and 2 years of chorus at my university, and playing the flute (sic) for two years as a child. I am not a guitar player, and am starting the lute 'cold' (no bad habits, at least).
I found Giuseppe Tumiati on the internet, through an e-mail reference, I think, and visited his website. I corresponded with him for several months, and e-mailed other customers who were very satisfied.
His responsibility, organization, and industriousness were very obvious from all this, and I bought a student lute (Starting Kit) by credit card.
I was very well rewarded, as there are no quality student lutes available for this price--even considering the shipping cost--available in America now. Everything about communicating with Giuseppe (over e-mail) and getting the lute shipped was very easy and quick.
I am very pleased to have a handsome instrument with a lovely sound.
It has been constructed with care, and seems very professional compared to other lutemaker's student lutes based on the same Hieber model, which are often flawed (to say nothing of the kit-lutes or the do-it-yourselfers). Giuseppe has shown much consideration in including the case, tuner, extra frets and strings, and everything one needs for a new instrument--and for which one must normally spend extra time and money.
My teacher was so impressed with the tone and quality of the lute that he is considering buying one just to have another lute around!

Il mio Curriculum Vitæ come musicista è fondamentalmente "nulla" --1 anno di teoria musicale e 2 anni di coro all'università, e il flauto (sic) per due anni da bambino. Non sono un chitarrista, inizio ora con il liuto "a freddo" (niente brutte abitudini, per lo meno).
Ho trovato Giuseppe Tumiati in internet, un'indicazione via email, credo, e ho visitato il suo website.
Ho corrisposto con lui per alcuni mesi e scambiato messaggi con altri suoi clienti che erano molto soddisfatti.
Le sue responsabilità, organizazione e industriosità risultavano evidenti da tutto ciò, così ho acquistato un liuto da studio (Starting Kit) pagando con Carta di Credito.
Sono stato veramente ben ricompensato, dal momento che non ci sono liuti da studio di qualità disponibili a quel prezzo --anche considerando i costi di spedizione-- in America attualmente. Ogni cosa riguardo a communicare con Giuseppe (via e-mail) e ricevere il liutio è stato estremamente semplice e rapido.
Sono davvero compiaciuto di avere un liuto così ben fatto e con un così bel suono.
E' costruito con cura, e sembra addirittura professionale se comparato ai liuti da studio costruiti da altri liutai sullo stesso modello di Hieber, che spesso sono "sbagliati" (flawed) (per non parlare dei liuti in scatola di montaggio o di quelli costruiti da dilettanti).
Giuseppe mostra una grande considerazione includendo l'astuccio, l'accordatore, corde e legacci di ricambio e ogni cosa di cui si possa aver bisogno per uno strumento nuovo --e per cui uno normalmente deve spendere altro tempo e altro denaro.
Il mio Maestro è rimasto così impressionato dalla timbrica e dalla qualità del liuto che stà pensando di acquistarne uno lui stesso, giusto per avere un'altro strumento!
